The Sleepy Hollow Barn and Plantation is a stunning 44 acres of forest, creeks, and historic farmland nestled in the heart of Clemson, South Carolina. This beautiful, family-owned property is comfortably located close to Clemson University but still has the private, unspoiled feel of the country.
Founded in 1837, Sleepy Hollow is home to the lovingly preserved J.C. Stribling Barn, a rustic red brick barn with hardwood floors. This barn and the sprawling green lawn of the Wedding Green have been the elegant backdrop to many weddings and other special occasions.
Capacity: 150 Seated, 300 Standing
The J.C. Stribling Barn is a 20th century barn that measures 70 feet (21 m) long and 50 feet (15 m) wide. Most brides choose to use the barn for their wedding reception. We give you the option of using the barn the day before your wedding for the rehearsal dinner.
The barn is composed of over 140,000 hand-made bricks that vary in color from a light rosy brown to a deep burnt red. The red metal roof and the gable-style main entrance give the barn a distinct late Victorian look. The main entrance to the barn is only a short walking distance from the Wedding Green. The inside of the barn has high wooden ceilings, dark hardwood floors, and three wagon wheel chandeliers. Most brides find that the unique interior of the barn does not need a lot of decoration.
